Tuesday Confessions

1. I am now the proud owner of purple jeans.

2. Sometimes I have to dust my stovetop. And when I don't, it's because I made scrambled eggs every other night for dinner.

3. There are certain clothes in my closet that I don't wear simply because I don't want to take the time to iron them. This is highly embarrassing, especially after hearing that my friend spends 2.5 hours a week ironing her 9 month's old clothes. Basically her baby's clothes look better than mine. To alleviate this first world problem I purchased a fancy clothing steamer. Brandon suggests we chuck the iron off the balcony.

4. Speaking of balconies, my neighbor smokes on his and the smells comes into our place when our windows are open. I am not sure if I can even confess here what I'd like to say to him.

5. Because I have the bad habit of checking my email at stoplights, I have vowed to keep my phone completely out of reach while driving. It is sad that I have to do this (i.e., I have no willpower), but I encourage you all to do the same if you have this problem.

  1. 1. Now I will finally buy green jeans.

    2. At least you clean yours.

    3. We are the same person.

    4. I'll come speak to him for you. And give him a big ol' b-slap.

    5. The inadvertent bonus of reducing my data plan is I turn it off very often. That means when I'm driving, I generally don't have access to incoming e-mails or IG 'likes.' It has helped me to stop texting/e-mailing and driving. Try it if you are having a hard time.

Bonus: Did you read my mind? Why did we BOTH decide to confess on a Tuesday?

    Encore: E-mailing you ASAP.

  2. Dude, I totally have to dust my stove top too. Grrr dogs and glass tops!

  3. Haha. I had my post ready to go and saw yours last night and I was like...nope. No way. We are on the same wavelength.

  4. Purple jeans might be the only color I don't have. I just bought yellow polka dot jeans and I love them so much. I have no idea what color to wear them with. Are your polka dot jeans from Gap? That's where I got mine. I HATE IRONING. I have a lot of clothes I don't wear bc of that. You know, the amount that iron costs probably equals the amount of $ I have spent on clothes I won't iron...could equal out. I should buy it.

  5. Yes, mine are from GAP and I love them! Didn't even have to get them hemmed!

The steamer will save me so much money because of that reason and that I will rarely have to take things to the dry cleaners. They say that the steam is so hot that it gets rid of germs and odors on your clothes! Sweet! I cannot wait to use it and I plan to steam the whole closet for the fun of it.

  6. Ironing baby clothes. Just..really?? I mean all kinds of bodily fluids are bound to end up on the outfit within hours of putting it on....I just can't even comprehend doing this!

Scrambled eggs sound excellent for dinner!

  7. 1. I like your purple jeans a whole lot.
    2. Throwing my clothes in the dryer and fluffing is my version of ironing. That or using a blow dryer to get the wrinkles out. I know, super classy.
    3. Scrambles eggs is the world's greatest, easiest dinner.

  8. Haha. When she told me, I totally made fun of her and we both had a good laugh. She knows she's iron-obsessed.

  9. Oooh, how have I never thought of using a blow dryer?

I got the steamer yesterday and am obsessed. I started randomly grabbing things from our closet and steaming them. I might even start buying button-up shirts again. Maybe.

  10. Fact: I can't tell you the last time I used an iron. I'm not even sure we have one. Ain't nobody got time for that. ;)

  11. I don't iron... if I can't throw it in the dryer and get wrinkles out.. forget it!

  12. I bought some last month too!! Ummm they are purple leopard print... I don't normally go for bold but I do love me some purple!

  13. My neighbours used to smoke pot in their apartment and the smell would always waft into mine - one of the many reasons I'm glad to not live there anymore.

    Love the jeans!

  14. You're friend irons her baby's clothes? Are you kidding me?! That's like right up there with ironing your underwear...or your bed sheets! Lol I HATE ironing! Actually wait, I take that back...ironing can kinda be a good stress reliever (as long as I have some good tunes), it's just the act of taking/fighting to get the ironing board out from beside the dryer, set up, and ready...yeah, that's what sucks!

And don't feel bad, I've started keeping my phone in the backseat just so I'm not tempted to scroll through Instagram while on long stretched of sad!

  15. The ironing board is the worst to fight with! Mine always ends up falling over or I almost burn myself. It's a disaster...but the steamer - amazing.

  16. Ugh, that's no fun either...smoke period is just gross!

  17. I have a steamer too, way easier than an iron. I'm with you on #5. Checking to see who liked my blog post on Facebook can wait until I'm at home...
